This amazing history of UK knives should have a place on your bookshelf. This book shows me that the British were the real knife makers, holding a rich history of a multitude of knife styles and superior workmanship. As an American, I feel like the western world is a johnny-come-lately in knife design and manufacturing. You will enjoy the hundreds of color pictures of antique knives. You may even see one like you own. My interest in British knives is the Barlow style, which was designed in England, probably in the 1600's. Sheffield England was the cradle of fine knife-making skills.
