I'll never take a lockback for granted again. This book shows you step by step how to design and make one. I didn't realize how important it is to design the shape and length of the blade to look good when open, and to fit into the handle perfectly when closed. The effective locking mechanism needs to not only lock the blade open, but it also needs to help push the blade back into the handle. The angles of the blade base and the lock have to be precise. The Case Lockback 97200 is the knife that I think about when reading this instruction book. The authors know what they are talking about, from theory to actual practice. Many detailed color pictures are used on each page, every step of the way. If you have the tools and equipment, you can make a professional looking lockback knife.
