I found the best rescue pocket knives on display in Cleveland Ohio last week. Gordon Blake, of Big River Marketing is showing us the Heavy Duty Rescue Knife (with yellow bolster). In his other hand is the “Ball Bearing Assisted Opening Professional Grade Rescue Knife”. It opens with a breeze, using only one hand. Both knives are made by Utica Cutlery Company (the Kutmaster line).

Are you looking for a new unique knife gift for your customers? The Trail Blazer Pocket Knife 1938 has arrived. It was introduced by Compass Promos at the OPPA product show in Cleveland Ohio in January 2018. Paul Rizzo, the company representative is shown here with the knife fully open. For a light weight knife, it is a full 4 inches long. It is light because of the minimalist handle design. As a bonus, it has the features on a multi-tool, with a carabiner, bottle opener, screwdriver, serrated blade, and a gut hook. The hook can be used to safely open a blister pack.
Kershaw is an American company based in Oregon. Their designs shown here are not tactical, but more accurately described as “modern”. All their knives are well-constructed, and the opening and locking mechanism works extremely well.
CRKT is the newest, but most innovative folding pocketknives company in the USA. This knife manufacturer and designer was “hatched” in Oregon in 1994. Some unique examples are shown below of their stainless steel knives. They have a world-wide staff of professional designers. That’s what makes their line so special.
Now, they offer laser engraved pocket knives with your corporate logo. All they need is your art file, and they can email you a virtual proof for your approval.
For the year 2017, the award goes to the most popular pocket knife. This knife got the most orders, and sold the highest quantity. Factors that did not enter into the contest were price and country of origin. The winner is:
This Maxam knife has a stainless steel blade and a synthetic handle. The handle is smooth so it can support your full color logo. The basic lockback mechanism keeps you safe when you are using it.
Why is this knife so popular? Its low cost, basically. But the sale price of $1.99 is not near the real price of $3.44 each. And the perceived value is probably between $5 and $10. This knife is an outstanding winner this year!
Logo Knives is proud to make this announcement for 2017.
How do you choose the best pocket knife? Some of the new tactical knives have really cool designs. But, since they don’t have a history of popularity, they can’t be considered in this contest. They may be popular now, but that might be short-lived.
The winner must have a history of popularity for many years. How about 1964? If a knife style was invented in that year, like the Buck 110 Folding Hunter, would that be a long enough history? What about the 1600’s? That time frame would certainly be a long enough history. That’s 400 years, or 4 centuries. If a pocket knife style is still as popular now, as it was 400 years ago, that would make it the winner. So that’s how I came up with the winning knife. If you don’t agree, please post your comments here.
I believe the Best Pocket Knife of All Time is the Barlow Knife. Once used by George Washington, and Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer.
