Today is National Color the World Orange Day, which to many people sounds like just a day to celebrate this beautiful color. It is, in fact, a day to bring awareness to CRPS/RSD. What do all these letters stand for? According to https://www. colortheworldorange.com:
“Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), is a chronic pain condition characterized by continuous, intense, often burning, pain that is out of proportion to the severity of the original injury. Symptoms can include changes in the skin color and temperature of the affected body part, as well as skin sensitivity, sweating and swelling.”
Many of us, yours truly included, have probably not heard of this painful ailment, but hopefully through word of mouth more awareness can be drawn to it in order to help those affected.
How can your company raise awareness for CRPS/RSD?
Wear orange ribbons
Plan a company event where part of the proceeds go to a CRPS/RSD nonprofit
Change your company website color to orange
Post an image to your social media account with the hashtag #CRPSORANGEDAY
This week is National Forest Products Week, a week where we embrace the beauty and strength of our nation’s forests. According to the U.S. Forest Service there are many ways in which supporting our forests helps the whole nation:
Supporting sustainable forest management helps reduce damage from insects, disease, invasive species & uncharacteristic wildfires
Using leftover wood materials expands the wood products markets, creating an alternative to burning or sending remnants to land fills
Places rural America at the forefront
Creates American jobs at every stage of the supply chain
You can help support our nation’s forests by rewarding your customers with wood handle pocketknives this fall. Whether you prefer Case, Buck, or Kutmaster, there are countless styles of wood handle pocketknives and accessories to choose from.
It comes as no surprise that the most successful companies are those with the best customer service. How can you improve the efficiency, quality, and reliability of yours this week? After all, it is National Customer Service Week.
First, you need to define how you can transform your customer service from just “meh” to “ah-may-zing!”.
Listen to your employees; happy employees will lead to better service
Always answer the phone
Hire & train employees properly
Take constructive criticism- complaints can become opportunities
The next question, once you’ve attracted your customers, is how can you keep them coming back? What incentives or engraved pocket knives can you give them?
Create a Customer Loyalty Reward Program- give different engraved pocket knives when a customer reaches a new level
This year during National Customer Service Week, give useful, enjoyable, and thoughtful engraved pocket knives to your customers. It will brighten up their day and keep them coming back.
We weren’t the only ones anticipating National Hunting and Fishing Day last weekend.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine took some time off last Saturday to celebrate the holiday. After a successful fishing trip on Lake Erie, he had a fish fry with personnel of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and other VIPs. Geneva Marina next to Geneva on the Lake hosted the event. Governor DeWine praised Ohio’s beautiful parks and the dedicated people who run them. Everyone at the fish fry agreed with DeWine when he suggested they make this an annual event.
In case you missed this national holiday, or were busy hunting and fishing yourself, our famous engraved Buck knives were at the top of our must-have list. A few other high-quality models such as Boker knives and Kutmaster knives also made the list.
Boker USA® is always designing knives that are way ahead of the time. These logo knives are examples of their futuristic thinking. The Urban Trapper Tanto 01BO721 doesn’t look like a pocket knife, so it blends in with the urban style. The pocket clip is positioned so that the knife does not stick out of your pocket.
The unique curve of the whole knife when open, is a new design from Chad Los Banos of the CLB Kerambit 01BO580. It has a carabiner on the end of the handle so you can carry it on a belt loop, or on your backpack. Chad is a Hawaiian police officer, so he definitely knows what features are needed in a pocket knife.
Kershaw® is another knife manufacturer that stays ahead of the curve. This Select Fire 1920 is a knife that also serves as a screwdriver, with extra bits stored in the handle.
This new rescue knife was introduced at the beginning of 2019. It’s award-winning features are the combination of 3 distinct design colors, green, black, and silver. The blade offers an enhanced 3-dimentional look by coloring 2 planes with black. The rest of the blade is pure stainless steel. The black part of the blade coordinates with the black area on the front of the handle. The pattern of the handle makes use of a 3-dimentional look, along with a small steel plate, which can be laser engraved with the recipient’s initials. The end of the handle has a powerful glass breaker and seat belt cutter. A pocket clip was added, to make sure this rescue knife is where you need it, when you need it.
The winner of the title “Best Pocket Knife of Spring 2019″ is a very economical knife. It may surprise you, because it is made in China, and is only $1.99 on sale. The Maxam® Digital Camo Knife rsk11168 won the title for these reasons:
It has been the most popular the last few weeks. Every business owner is buying it, and likes to see his company logo printed in full color on the handle.
Camo is always popular. It isn’t just a style; it represents a lifestyle.
Its cost is only $1.99, but the perceived value is between $5 and $10.
It is rugged because of the simple design and choice of materials.
The blade is stainless steel, with an opening hole at the back edge.
The handle is durable Laymar, imprinted with a digital camouflage design.
Price and quality are the 2 main parameters when you are looking to buy company logo knives with your corporate logo laser engraved. This year, the most popular knives are:
The Maxam® Digital Camo Knife RSK11168.
The best feature of this Maxam® knife is the price. At $1.99, you can afford to give this knife to visitors of your table at a trade show. It’s in the price range of a good pen, but will last longer than a pen. It’s perceived value is much higher than its cost. Who ever threw away a pocket knife? Who ever threw away a pen? Your corporate logo can be imprinted on the handle in full color, or just white, for free.
This Buck® knife has always been popular because of its quality and reputation. Your company logo looks great laser engraved on the blade. You can’t go wrong when you give this knife to your best customers.
This Case® knife came out last year, and is popular because of its quality, it’s made in the USA, and the color coordinates with most color logos. People love to see their logo engraved in color on the gray handle.
This is a pocket knife that encases a piece of history. But why is it worth over $600?
These Engraved Pocket Knives are made from recycled steel from the barrel of the German battle tank Leopard I. So, the material is in short supply.
They have historic value, and are cherished by collectors.
The Damascus blade is made by a time-consuming and labor-intensive process. That design is not laser engraved. It actually shows the layers that were made by forging, folding, forging, and folding again, many times.
This knife comes with a certificate of authenticity.
The aluminum handle is hardcoated 6061-T6 and has Ziracote wood insets.
This knife makes a unique retirement gift for a seasoned employee.
Buck Knives capture the hearts of many Americans. They are available in many styles now. But the 2 most popular ones are the Buck Folding Hunter Lockback Knife 110 and the Nobleman Linerlock Knife 327. These 2 knives outsell any other knife that Buck makes.
