As the end of summer approaches, many bakers are looking to snag up the last of the ripe summer fruits to make pies, tarts, jams, sorbets, and many more yummy treats.

Peaches are one of this season’s prize fruits- they’re so juicy and sweet, which makes today (it’s Peach Pie Day!) a great day to bake with them.

What you’ll need for your peach pie:

  • Fresh peaches- about 8 cups, peeled & sliced
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp each of: cinnamon & vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 3-4 tbsp of cornstarch
  • Homemade or store-bought pie crust
  • A sharp fruit knife to cut into your juicy peaches

Mix the above ingredients together, place in your crust, and bake! Enjoy!

7 Things About Personalized Pocket Knives You May Not Have Known

When you order gift pocket knives that have the recipient’s name or initials on each knife, these are called Personalized Pocket Knives. If all the knives have the same imprint, they would not be called “personalized”.

Here are some facts that you may not have known:

Personalized Pocket Knives
Personalized Pocket Knives
  1. Personalization is not very expensive. It usually costs $5 per knife plus a setup charge of $25 for the whole order.
  2. Instead of engraving the recipient’s first and last name, why not just the first name, and the years of service. “Jasonn–10 Years” instead of “Jasonn Smith”. The cost is the same either way.
  3. The knife will last forever. Who would throw away a knife with their own name on it? So, your logo will also last forever.
  4. Laser engraving is permanent. Electro etching is semi permanent.
  5. You can submit your list of names in different ways: Excel spreadsheet, Word document, or just in an email.
  6. If you misspell a name, it will be misspelled on the knife, and you paid for it.
  7. The minimum order is the same as the minimum order for each particular knife.

5 Steps to Finding the Perfect Engraved Leatherman Tools

Perfect Engraved Leatherman Tools

If your boss has given you the task to find the perfect engraved Leatherman tools for the shop’s safety program, where do you start? These 5 steps will help you:

  1. Ask the employees if they would like the full size tool (about 4″ closed), or one of the pocket sized tools (about 2 1/2″ closed).
  2. Are scissors necessary? Some of the tools have them. Some don’t.
  3. Are knife blades necessary? If blades are not wanted, Leatherman has a tool for you.
  4. Are pliers necessary? Some of the tools eliminate the pliers, to make more room for other tools.
  5. Are carrying pouches needed? Some of the Leatherman tools come with leather pouches, and some with nylon pouches. And the mini tools don’t need any pouches at all.

These tips should help you get started on your project. If you have more questions, you can contact an online distributor of knives and tools.

Some Engraved Kershaw Knives are made in the USA, and some are imported. Even the imported ones are high quality, and are made according to the specifications of the Oregon office of Kershaw. For the last 12 months, these are the most popular ones, by far.

The Volt has a beautiful bead blasted finish. Two other features that make this one a favorite are: SpeedSafe® assisted opening mechanism, and a fine grade of steel for the blade,  8CR13MOV. It comes with a reversible pocket clip.

3560-K Kershaw® Ember 3560-K

The Ember is also a favorite, probably because of its compact size. Even though it is a small one, it still has the SpeedSafe® assisted opening and a convenient, built-in flipper to get the opening started.
